#Innovation – Semi-Autonomous Trucks Are Delivering Products From El Paso, TX to Palm Springs, CA11/15/2017
There is a shortage of 50,000 truck drivers and automation may help attract younger candidates to become professional drivers because semi-autonomous trucks make it easier and less exhausting to drive a vehicle. From El Paso, Texas to Palm Spring, California via I-10 W highway semi-autonomous trucks are hauling products without the driver’s intervention. Only in case of emergency, the driver will take control of the truck. It’s a 650 mile route, and the trucker just has to sit behind the steering wheel and let the truck do the rest.
