The Global Innovation Index (GII) is a ranking among 128 country profiles according to 82 indicators published by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), and it shows that in 2016, the World Wide Web allowed more countries to share talent and knowledge and become better innovators.
15 countries among the Top 25 innovators come from Europe, and Switzerland retains the 1st position for 6 years in a row. Europe is leading in key innovation fields: Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Access, Environmental Performance, and School Life Expectancy.
