JPEG images features a compression system that divides the image into blocks of pixels and then averages the image information in the block. The compression routines introduce artifacts that are accentuated each time an image is saved. If your camera delivers JPEG files, select the highest quality option on the camera and save the files in the TIFF format when downloaded and edited. A lossless compression is possible when saving TIFF (Tagged Image File Format) files.seashore quality images
